Most belts - even top quality leather ones - have holes at regular spacing’s. These usually correspond to trouser sizes: 32”, 34”, 36”, etc. But people aren’t stock sizes. If your waist measurement is 33”, 34½” or 35¾”, for instance, it’s a case of either too tight or too loose - neither of which is comfortable.

This new and very stylish leather belt solves the problem ingeniously. Behind the buckle there’s a ratcheting adjustment which allows you to ‘tailor’ your belt - by ¼” increments - to your exact measurement. And if you put on a pound or so, just flick the catch and click to the correct (and comfy) size.
